Spotlight on the Arts - Sanndi Art Mystical Expressions

Sanndi Thompson of Sanndi Art Mystical Expressions explains her art thus:

"Sanndi Art aims to help you decorate your home, studio, or office or just your own "special" sacred little space. Sanndi Art aims to create art that inspires, enchants, empowers you and gives you an uplifting feeling. Gazing upon something that you personally feel in tune with can do wonders for your body mind and spirit!"

Of course I love the whimsical nature of her work, but there is an easily accessible depth to it that keeps me coming back to it and has made Sanndi one of my favorite artists. She lives her art in all that she does, and is about the most gracious and generous spirit you could hope to meet.

In addition to all things musey, mermaidy, and bellydancy, she's recently created a series of tactile dress pieces, that are cute as prints and incredible as 3D originals. I was thrilled to receive a framed red fringey flapper dress for use at the launch of one of my 1920s Tea Cozy Mysteries novels.

Here's a smattering of her mermaid stuff.

If you're on Facebook, check out her page. It's always lovely, festive, and inspiring.

For the Love of Writing - Feb 2018

Get that rough draft finally finished or start that dream project that's been knocking around in your head. Our goal for the month is to write or edit 28K words.

For those who finish, there will be a drawing with a prize of formatting to turn your manuscript into both a digital and paperback book.

We will post inspirational ditties regularly during the month, especially on our Facebook event page, and we'll host local write-ins and meetups for those in SoCal.

Break a nib!
(i.e. good luck!)

Shop while you wait

No, this is not someone who's waiting for us to get a venue *wink*
It's a photo of one of our logo shirts available at our new Cafepress shop as submitted by a whimsical devotee 😃
Methinks the skeleton is smiling as a result of downing whatever was in that spooky martini glass on the arm of the chair.

First donation - check!

My big thrill of the day? Heading to the ATM to deposit our first 'official' check into the new & equally official Whimsicalitea nonprof bank account. Yay!

Kind words from one of our pioneer questers

"I really enjoyed Riddle-Dee-Tea, Adventures in Whimsiland, Quest #1! It was fun clicking the hidden links and solving the puzzles. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to explore because the Quest takes you to many wonderful websites. This quest has whet my appetite for next year’s Spot of London tour to Scotland, London, and the return trans-Atlantic cruise on the Queen Mary II. I’m looking forward to the next Quest!" ~Dianne L.

17 June 2017 tea at the max

Oodles of thanks to all who expressed interest in our Off with Their Heads RoyalTea. We're chuffed to say the event is ever so sold out!

What exactly is a Parcel Quest

Welp, we've distributed our first sold-out batch of Parcel Quests -- specifically, the Alice-themed Riddle-Dee-Tea quest. Since we're asked daily what the heck a quest is, what it involves, and what you get, here's a peek at the contents as my fab friend Sharon opens hers over tea at the irresistible Paris In A Cup Tea Salon & Cafe. Sorry for the fuzzy pics -- was trying to be unobtrusive. Neither worked!

And to answer the aforementioned quest-ions, our quests involves receiving a parcel full of goodies to be used in tandem with online clues to solve a riddle.
"I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the quest. I eagerly await the next parcel. Cuppa in hand of course!!!"~Joan W., Astoria, OR
